Well, this was an absolutely amazing experience.

We arrived in Dallas Thursday at a hotel for which we were only staying one night; the hotel we were staying for the wkend only had room for us over the weekend. We tried not to do very much; unpacked my food and put in the mini fridge and we basically just chilled out for the evening after the first coat of PRO tan. The pictures i have are only of the show; so I will just add a photo as I go explaining the wkend.

Friday, we got up around 8am to pack up and move on to the other hotel and realized we would have to wait until 3 to check in and ended up going to the mall; had my nails done and got some iced tea to sip on and wake up. We went to the hotel and were happy to find out it was basically across the street from the venue and the mall; so it was going to be easy to navigate!!!!!

Anyway, we ended up at the hotel and the athlete's meeting not starting until 8:30 pm. Can you believe that? We did not get out of the athlete's meeting until 10:30 pm. The room was absolutely packed with competitors and when they asked Figure to line up against this long wall, I went right to the front to be measured; not realizing I was going to the front of the line. I got measured and they checked my suits to make sure there were no thongs and it was only when I went back to my seat that I realized there were girls extending down the entire length of the wall and out the door....over 70!

We still had several coats of pro tan to do yet for the evening and ended up staying up til midnight and getting up at 5am to get started again. Had breakfast and couple more coats of pro tan and went to check in! We had an enjoyable time, as I was first to check in, nearly, and did not have to wait in line. They gave us a bag full of a lifting belt, gloves, lifting straps, protein bar, etc etc which was nice. They tested the lights while the vendors set up and I was glad I wore my heavy sweats; as it was ice cold in the place.

The show did not start on time, which was very bad with over 130 competitors, we were very worrried and almost instantly knew that our plan to eat my splurge meal at a mexican restaurant was just not going to happen....as the show would likely last way too late. We ended up still at prejudging at 2:30 pm!

And well, okay; we also found out for some reason they decided to do Figure dead last. This meant we would not be able to leave early and would have a very short break btw prejudging and night show. There were so many girls that of course we were broken into groups and did call outs. I was very excited that I made first call outs every single time! I almost cried as I was doing quarter turns; I was just so happy to make the first cut because every one looked really good. Even so, there were just so many girls there was no way to know how you were doing or how you were placing because you couldn't even see everyone. There was no area for the girls to get ready backstage either. The bathroom was thru the venue, up the stairs around the corner and down a long hallway. It was challenging to say the least. We would be backstage getting ready and it might be an hour longer than expected and then there you would be having to pee really bad but not able too....knowing you had to go onstage and act fabulous and be kept there for up to 30 minutes frozen smile and every muscle flexed.

Note, the above picture is the Master's division. Number 88 was the class winner. I placed 5th and what you are looking at is the top 7, which was the first call out.

Also, what happened was they had us doing two piece Open, two piece Masters then one piece Open...which meant that as soon as I went off stage for open, I circled the stage and got right back on for Master's....then circled the stage and went ran and changed into one piece to go back on. Again, on stage each time for a very extended period while the judges made their assessments.
