The wave of the future!

Last weekend I attended a MET workshop put on by the guru himself, Scott Abel.

There are no words to describe how much information I got out of that and how AMAZING the training is!! Cardio is now obsolete!! MET incorporates functional, power, and balance training to form and INTENSE cardiovascular workout. You kill 2 birds with one stone and become more of an athlete in the process. this stuff is FOR REAL folks and its here to stay. My legs have never screamed for mercy in the 5 years that I have been "bodybuilding" using traditional heavy squats and presses, like they did last sat using more functional movements. I got my ass kicked by some pretty simple exercises that were presented in a format of intensity. Check it out if you dare.

Re: The wave of the future!

Because the movements can use minimal weight resistance, and work with the natural positioning of the body it is ideal for people suffering with joint problems, and in fact many have reported reduced pain, increased strength and flexibility aswell as an added cosmetic effect bonus. Its alot safer then using traditional fixed movements, especially machine exercises. check out Abel Bodies Fitness and Fitness Over 40 for more info

Re: The wave of the future!

Is this similiar to Robert Dos Remedios' "Power Training" ? He uses several circuits and hybrid exercises to constantly keep you moving.

Re: The wave of the future!

well from what I could gather on google there, some of the concepts are similar... MET also utilizes explosive techniques on some movements, but other movements it doesnt, like balance movements. Plus there is a whole format to program design which is really the key, its more then just a collection of exercises.

Re: The wave of the future!

looks good but not for everyone especially those with back joint pain, I have been searching for 2 years to find an interesting programe to do after 9 vertebrae back surgery and whilst I would love to try MET because of the steel it is impossible, so if anyone can come up with something I would be interested.
