Hey honey bun!!! :kissonche I'm a little late to reply but I had to check in on you. How's your prep going so far? I'm so glad you decided to continue with it. Which coach did you decide on? I'm still on the fence. I dunno if I'm just so overwhelmed w/ work or what but I just don't seem to have that "drive" to continue like I've always had before. :dunno: It's crazy! guess I'm trying to make changes in my life and I seem to be struggling right now about the morality of it all. Who knows what I'll do. My mind tends to change on a daily basis I'm thinking of a show in Sept again. Let me know how things are going...I've missed ya like crazy!

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Hope you find the peace you seem to be looking for in your life Sweet T. At the end of the day, you are the one that has to live with your choices in life. It is never easy taking things to extreme, and believe me, you are not alone in questioning what we do. Ur in my thoughts and prayers. Mac, I'm prepping for the Southern Classic June 2nd, possible the Junion Nationals, and finally the Mississippi in late July. I recently went to Jackson, MS and trained at a large gym where quite a few competitors workout, including a past overall winner that just missed his pro card this year, and I will just say that I feel very confident in my ability this year. My body has morphed beyond what I ever thought it was capable of. I have started doing 2 hours of cardio this year at the 12 week mark as opposed to the 4 week mark and I am keeping my calories higher with 2 carbs days a week as opposed to none. I am staying fuller, and getting leaner quicker. It's scary.

| Post Whore ![]() | Actually, our competition half of the year is almost done. I have one more April 21, and if I place, its an automatic invite to the U.S. team trials in Vegas come june. Very excited and nervous. And boxing seems to have made my radial tunnel syndrome disappear. Well, that, some cortisone and a bunch of indomethacin. Hoping to book at least an amateur MMA bout by the end of the year. We'll see how that goes. |

don't worry, honey. i'm the exact same way and a few of my very good competitor friends are feeling the same way this season. honestly, i just don't want to go through rebounding crap anymore. mentally its exhausting, physically its harmful. i go back and forth daily too. for now, i want to just stabalize and hold onto that for a while with out the ups and downs. prep/rebound/prep rebound...need to break that cycle. also want to live a little while i'm still young (cough, cough) and single. the only way i ever knew how to get over a rebound was to start prepping again...so i just decided to maybe get back down slowly and maintain there for a bit. again, i have to talk to my new coach, depends what his plans are. but hes a lot more healthy approached so i think he'll agree w/ me. i def trust him!! i decided to go w/ that coach that i was telling you about this fall. his training sessions....beat down. LOVE IT! but a good thought for you....i decided to persue fitness modeling more this season. its a softer look as opposed to stage. easily attainable and "liveable" year round. they want the girls fit w/ a flat tummy but not a chisled six pack. may be a good route for you to take. i have a few gigs w/ a photog this spring/summer and some more coming up. something to keep motivated and keep your name out there. let me know if you're interested, i'll point you to who i've used. miss you too. i owe u an email, promise i'll get it to you by the w/e. love u!!!

Can't tell you how good it made me feel to read this :) When I've discussed this issue with a few other competitors they seem to get offended for some odd reason. As if I'm questioning their choices. I would NEVER cast any blame or judgment on ANYONE in this sport. It's been a passion of mine for the last 8 years. It's just taking me this long to realize that I've had a tendency over the years to put it/myself ahead of everything and everybody else in my life. Lord willing, I will be able to find some kind of balance in my life in the coming months. Thanks so much for your kind words

Errrrr! :pissed: I had typed out this LONG reply and my battery died on me. Ohh well, I'll briefly sum it up. Glad to see the new guy (coach) has worked out so well for you. I had been wondering how things were going with him for a while now. I'll email you later...you know I want all the details Ohhh, don't even get me started on the whole rebound issue you know the hell I've been through this year.I so wanted to do Team U this year but I just feel that realistically....without AS there would be absolute no hope for me there. And by the way the competition looked at the shows I've done the past 3 years- probably not even on a local level for that matter. You are going to laugh....I've been contemplating skipping out altogether on the shows this year and doing a couple shoots myself. (well....that is- if I can get myself where I need to be by then) ughhh. Ohh, something else ironic....I've been in touch with Raejha. I'm still not sure if that's the route I need to be taking but she assures me that these days she takes a much healthier approach to cutting down. (I sure would hope so.....geeez, I thought I would kill myself with those 2 hr cardio sessions/7 days a week while running on 700 cals) Can't seem to make up my mind just yet on that. I have a friend that trains at my gym who will be starting her prep w/ Raejha next week so we'll see then just how reasonable it is. I'm very happy to see things are going well w/ you! :kissonche
