Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Thyroid Support I have been reading up on restoring thyroid function. There is so much information out there, and I am going to utilize all of them and see how they work after my show next week. At which time I will be coming off of T3 after a fairly lengthy period of time. I will keep everyone posted. My goal is to overcome the rebound effect, and not allow my bodyfat to climb above 10%. Here are some of the items I will use. "L-tyrosine This amino acid plays an essential role in the production of thyroid hormones, in addition to hormones that affect mood including epinephrine, norepinephrine, serotonin, and dopamine. And while our body can naturally produce some Tyrosine from other amino acids, as we age, our bodies may not be able to keep up with the needs of a demanding thyroid. During metabolism, tyrosine joins forces with iodine in order to produce the thyroid hormones needed to efficiently convert (metabolize) the calories from our diet into expendable energy. A weak reserve of tyrosine can leave us feeling sluggish. As a result, our body reacts by storing more calories as fat for energy. Iodine Another key player in the metabolism game. Without it, metabolism simply can not take place. The thyroid is the only gland in the human body capable of absorbing this trace element. Typically found in shellfish and iodized salts, iodine is stored in the thyroid gland until needed for the production of the thyroid hormones triiodothyronine and thyroxine. When combined with L-tyrosine and other nutrients these two work synergistically to produce T3 and T4 thyroid hormone. Moreover, iodine deficiencies have been linked to the formation of goiters, decreased energy and lack of concentration. Irish Moss A natural vegetarian source of many thyroid-supporting nutrients, including Iodine, a key component in healthy metabolism. Irish moss has been consumed for thousands of years, and many herbalists encourage its use to contribute to sound glandular health. Selenium This naturally occurring trace mineral is well known for its strong antioxidant properties and natural synergism with other vitamins. Supplementing with selenium is essential for anyone concerned with sluggish thyroid performance. Guggul Technically known as Guggulsterone, the Guggul tree is native to India, and emits a resinous sap that has been used for centuries as part of India's traditional medicine known as Ayurveda. Studies have shown that the purified plant sterol extract from Guggulsterone can promote healthy thyroid function, and assist the body in maintaining normal production of thyroxine and triiodothyronine. " I will also run ECA, as well as Yohimbine. ECA (if I'm not mistaken without checking) increases nor-epinephrine, while Yohimbe prvents the down regulation of nor-epinephrine allowing for more of it to remain in circulation. I will also use chromium picolinate, fish oil, and CLA. I will avoid saturated fats to the best of my ability. I am going to keep my carbs below 150 grams a day as this is easy for me to do, but I will also scale back on my protein intake from 500+ grams to roughly 300.

I read that too about HCG and Clomid, I will be using these as well. I did not get them with that in mind. I am gonna eat clean and gradually taper down on cardio. I will continue Nolva or A'dex as well.

Is that a supplement I can buy on line, or is it a "research" product? Thanks Bro!

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Mallet the "thyroid guru" removed all of his thyroid posts from Steroid.com when I confronted him about them either ripping off Dan Duchaine's body opus book totally, or for being wrong. Take BBT by an armpit reading. Ha ha...that's a decade outdated and totally inaccurate. His reccomendations, where they are right, are 100% stolen from Body Opus, by Dan Duchaine. even his "ideal" BBT is exactly what DD reccomended. He claims to have "studied" with a thyroid specialist Duchaine "tutored" - but since he was from Canada, and so is the guy he's talking about, and there's no record of Duchaine going to Canada (it's difficult to know, but Ex-Cons on parole/probation don't often get to leave the country). Mallet = Full of shit

I think a better question would be, are those two products effective at aiding in restoration of natural thyroid function after T-3 usage? | |

My trainer from last year is an NPC national judge and he was always swinging from Duchaine's nutz. I will see him at weigh in in about 30 minutes so I'll ask him about thyroid support according to Duchaine. He may be a little pissed at me cuz I did my own diet this year, but I am bigger, harder, and drier, without his suicide lasix protocol. All I used was 100mg Aldactone a day starting on Monday.
