wish i got into the medical field!!!

I'm pissed/ Had a chance to get into the medical field but choose to go into public justice!! My friend who started college at the same time with me, only after 2 years is an RN starting out at $52,000 a yr not including OT!!! He's been working 5 days a week some times 18 hour days! He's making like $45 an hr! ME, i'm still in school getting my BA and not even sure if I'll get a job that pays more than $50,000! I'll have a masters and be making less than him probably! Either the nursing field is REEE-DIC-U-LOUUUS or probation/corrections are way underpaid! My buddy; in the hospital all day, hangin with hot ass nurses, stealing all the finest drugs and utensils (He gets these pins, VanishPoint syringes, So awesome... they retract after use and are sharper than hell!!!!) Where the hell did I go wrong!! Oh I know, when I talked to my advisor and thought nursing was gay! DAMN IT!

I have worked in several areas of medicine, and I currently work with nurses who are making six figures in some cases. 3-5 days a week and six figures. I worked for a pharmaceutical company who paid similar to this as well

I am new to nursing, and I just started my first full time job after leaving the military. I had been in the Air Force for 10 years. Anyway, I worked 6 days one week, and then 3 days the next (due to going home for the holidays) and my paycheck was bigger than I had ever gotten in the military. I can't wait to get my first 2 week pay check with no days off!

The "working with women" thing is over-rated! Working with women is plain annoying, they bitch constantly, always talk about one another, and won't hesitate to stab you in the back. I just go to work and have a good time and focus on my job and do my best not to get caught up in the drama.

Hey, its never too late to go into nursing! I love it, its the best job I've ever had!

We call the area our women work in the "hen house". They are terrible. They can not get along at all.

I keep telling myself money is not everything. I took a freaking huge pay cut to try and be happy but then my girl left me and i'm in a job that I might have to move by myself(not the plan)

However, 5yrs down the road I have a chance to be making what I was before haha and if I do well and play my cards right. Maybe double what i'm making currently.

To be honest I wish i'd went into physical therapy or something that I would have been happy with. Instead i'm constantly unsure about my life :P

Anyway, i'm trying to hook up with a nurse at the moment. Wish me luck :)

^^^ Phyiscal therapy is exactly what I wanted to do since I was injured in highschool. But back then I was stupid and was like "i don't wanna go to college for 6 years" and at the time I had a gf who I thought I'd marry and spend the rest of my life with (c'mon we've all been there!) Now my junior year in college and I love going to school. I actually get bored during winter break and summer because I miss the atmosphere and sports at school. I'm a busy body and get bored easily if I'm not learning etc... So if I'm not in the medical field, I'd like to be somewhere not in LE but say a lawyer or pro/parole officer where I'm helping people at the other end of the spectrum.

The nursing field is unlimited. It's getting into a school that is hard. Some travel RN's I know make nearly $150k a year. These are RN's from Alabama that were making 18 an hour. They never go home anymore - always working to make more cash. One guy just keeps banking it and then buying property. He jokes he will own his own county one day....

nurses in Canada get treated like shit.....truly a labour of love for most of them....underpaid and overworked.......i have the highest respect fo nurses up here and everything they do.....
