Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Shoulder Pain I've been having some slight discomfort on my right shoulder. The best I can describe it is it's right on the Acromiom. I'm sure it's minor and probably ibuprofen and rest will cure it. Has anyone else had this and what do you think causes it. I put a white dot on the area. |

| I've had shoulder pain for many years now, nothing that lasted too long, slight discomfort after different shoulder exercises. I was told ice the pained area for 20 minutes to get the swelling to go down, and to also ice the area daily to keep the swelling caused by normal wear and tear from creating scar tissue in the area which just increases the problem. Moderate stretching was also suggested 1-2 times a day, the best time I was told was right after a shower because the muscles are more relaxed and pliable. Just my .02 And now I see this is in the ask the RN section I will concede to anything the nurse has to say about the issue. | |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I'll try to describe when it hurts maybe that tell what's wrong. I can raise my arm and pull it forward fine no pain but if I pull the shoulder back it hurts. Or if I put pressure on the acromion or did something like shrugs where weight is pulling on it it hurts. Does that help? |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Update: It looks lke it was something minor because it feels better already. To be on the safe side i'm going to let it rest several more days. I'm pretty sure it happened while doing incline bench. I should've stopped 1 rep sooner, because the last rep was really straining too much and was causing more stress on the shoulder than the chest. When you get to my age you have to lift smarter. |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | What a difference a few days make, my shoulder is almost pain free now. One thing I learned that going to failure doesn't mean going to where you're risking injury. The problem is I went to failure doing incline bench and since I train alone I had no spotter. Evidently my right shoulder is weaker than left because I struggled more with it on last rep. I use a power rack and should've just set the bars like it's meant to be used and stopped. |
