Rep Power: 5 ![]() | Pulled neck muscle! I have a good one for ya! So one day i was in the shower washing my hair, had my head tilted down abit and was washing the back of my hair (hands putting slight pressure on my head) when all of a sudden i felt it! Pulled a muscle in my neck/back. (no kidding, it happened!) Thought this is crazy but sure enuf couldn't move my neck. Now, this is nothin too crazy but the thing is its been two weeks and my neck still hurts. It is uncomfortable. It has gotten better but i thought in two weeks it would be much better than this. The wierd thing is that it feels like it goes down my neck and into the left side of my back/shoulder. I havent been to the gym since i hurt it because i am afraid i will hurt it even more but it is taking so long to heal. Any ideas on what is going on or is it just a pulled muscle and im a pu$$y! I've had pulled muscles in my neck/back before but nothin like this. Thanks for your time! |

I'm running on sleep deprivation here, as I don't do well in motel rooms ( Da Bull!!), but I want to get caught up with the forum...so, after reading this, the very first thing that comes to mind could simply be a slipped disk that is now compressing a nerve, seeing as you can feel the radiation from the area to another. One possiblility could be to see a massage therapist, or probably better, a chiropractor. I would go gentle at the gym until you know more....but you can always work your legs!! :) Possibly, if your doc clears you, concentrate on strengthening those muscles in your workout, so perhaps they will become a bit more resistant to injury. I hope this helps :)

Rep Power: 5 ![]() | Well i went to the chiro today (first time) and he has fixed me up (i think). He massaged the muscles around my neck/shoulder (technique called ART?,i think) then proceeded to crack the hell outa my neck and back. Felt great!! I felt the tension in my shoulder/back release immediatly. My muscles are alittle sore but feels better. I was pleasantly suprised to find out that he does alot of work with the edmonton eskimos, thats a plus for him because i was alittle worried about going to a chiro. Anyway, thank you for the help! |
