Rep Power: 6 ![]() | possible blood sugar problem i have been having issues usually that take place at night and at first thought it may have been some sort of panic attack but i am starting to think that it is pertaining to my blood sugar. What happens is i get a little tighness in my stomach and then start getting a bit light headed and then eventually start shaking uncontrollably, the thing is that when it happens I seem to CRAVE sugar like i need to run and grab a tub of ben and jerrys or something. last night i took a klonopin at around 8pm for fun and to get some sleep, 1 klonopin will knock me out, I also hadnt eaten for 5 hours. about an hour after the klonopin i got all shaky and wierd feeling so i rushed into the kitchen and pounded some OJ, then a banana and within 5 minutes i was back to normal. does this sound concerning or what?

Rep Power: 10 ![]() | #1 get rid of the orange juice. Orange juice is going to cause huge fluctuations in your sugar. I had BAD problems with my sugar getting low and once I got rid of orange juice it helped honestly. As lifts mentioned, ALA caused pretty bad problems with my sugar also. You need to eat more frequent then 5 hours. Eat SOMETHING about every 3 hours or so, even if its a couple of crackers with peanut butter or string cheese or something with some protein. Protein is going to give you more of a sustained level then simple sugars. Dont eat anything sweet in the morning or at bed time that is going to cause dramatic changes in insulin levels. Try all of this and see if you dont see a change in the way you feel.

I missed the OJ 99% of juices are nothing more than concentrated forms of liquid sugar.

No, but it is something to watch, I'm boarderline hypogycemic and have occasional problems when severely calorie restricted. I have have every single possible in regard and my Doctor told not to worry just keep something on hand if I precieve symptoms. My case is very mild though. But a couple times I had profuse sweating, weakness and confusion.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Re: possible blood sugar problem Anybody interested in diabetes, and blood sugar levels,....Keep in mind, "sugar", or forms of simple sugars/highly processed sugars, are not the only thing that will run your sugars up,..Simple carbs,..will do the same thing. White bread will do it quicker than a Snicker bar,..No fat in it to slow it down,...Highly processed carbs/ High GI carbs will spike your sugars like there is no tomorrow. Very important when your concerned about your blood sugar, or controlling fat storage,...It's not just sweets. Know what is in everything you eat to make sure, if you have concerns,.. >>>---> |
