Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Not a medical question, but an employment question. I'm considering going back to college for Information Technology. I wanted to ask you about also considering becoming an RN. A few years back I started nursing school, but had to leave due to financial reasons. At the same time I was employed as a Nurse Assistant. I have a good idea of what a nurse goes through. What is your opinion about choosing a Nurse career over a Computer career? Thanks.

Nursing will continue to grow ( salary wise and Job opportunity wise ) for the next 40 years as the Baby Boomers live longer and their is more chronic illness to take care of - after that I'm not sure but until then it's like money in the bank Acute Care RN's here in Cali are making approx 45 an hour with just a few years experience and even more in the Bay Area etcNursing is the way to go - target rich environment too :bigok: as the estrogen levels are definately higher than testosterone - ladies everywhere :)

My problem is do I go to a two year nursing school and go to work right out of school or try for the 4+ years to get a Master's in IT. I'm leaning towards nursing, like powerlifrer said, there are jobs all over the country.

| I worked a contract while in my same city a few years ago and since they didn't have to pay for an apartment , utilities etc - they have to pay a per diem to you equal to what they would have paid and the money is all tax free - paid my mortgage for months....aww the wonderful world of supply and demand...LOL

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | That is incredible, I actually loved it when I worked in a hospital. I wish I would have been able to continue my schooling. I have to go back, it's driving me nuts. I'm single and would have no problem travelling like that. Thanks powerlifter.
