Injured or sick..?

Ok, long post comin up...My shoulders, elbows and knees are problem areas for me..

I've always had a problem with my elbows since i was young (15-present) when ever i do pressing motions with anything, BB curls/chin/pull ups and at random times too..even bodyweight..they tend to "click" and pop. Its not painful just severly annoying because on occasion my ring and pinky along with the entire outer forearm will go numb after my elbow clicks, but like i said not every time they click and if i have a set of dumbbells i have to drop em right then and there. I think it might be a pinched nerve for the numbness but the popping i cant explain.

My Shoulders havent ever given me a problem until i started working out..i was doin it wrong in the begining with sloppy form and heavy weight because of my stupid friend. Anyway whenever i lift my arm straight out(or even with a slight bend..like when i do any form of lateral raises) they pop and click just like my elbows just without the numb sensation. My exercises arent limited, i just have to take it easy with some..like upright rows, but OH presses are fine to do..no pain either..just an annoyance and inconvienance.

Now for the knees, this is the area that bugs me the most. Not just because they hurt unlike the other two, i cant do leg exercises at the moment and THAT bugs me..i cant do squats or any motion that requires a deep bend at the knee. Its kinda like a shooting pain that goes from the outer parts of the kneecap and shoots right behind and up the middle of the front. Bad knees run on my moms side of the family so im gettin nervous i might not be able to work legs for a while and thats a big problem for me. And that guy breakin his knees doin HEAVY squats isnt puttin pretty images in my head anytime soon.

I take glucosamine/chondroitin/msm pills in the morning with food and try to limit the stress i put on my knees and thats about all ive been doin for them lately, besides goin to the doc's for a check up every now and then.

Also, i got sick 2 weeks ago when i was neck deep in business related issues and that didnt help..the doctor ran bloodwork and said it was a form of mononucleosis or in english, Parvo (yea, the same thing your dog goes to the vet to get shots for, i got a f*cken dog virus ) Im hopin that once that fully clears up the knees will go back to normal..im not expecting the shoulders or elbows, since they've been this way even before i got sick.

So, all im gonna do is take it easy for a little bit..test my limits here and there, check in with the doctor and stay positive..thats all i really can do for now. You guys think you can give me some advice or did i cover most of it?

Re: Injured or sick..?

The numbness is most likely a pinched nerve. As for the squats and leg work, does it hurt when you do anything on the sled?? If not use the sled as a substitute for squats. Clicking joints, everyone has ticks and pops, kinda like a car but if it's regular it could be pre-artheritis. If I was your doc I'd say , lay off doing anything that makes it pop but i'm not and won't..

Re: Injured or sick..?

i can do the sled without a problem, but prefer to do lighter free weight for its benefits. The pops are pretty regular and happen even when not working out so i think i just have to be really careful
