Rep Power: 6 ![]() | I think I'm getting a stye :( I have looked it up on webmd.com and it shows that it starts from a bump right at the top of the eyelid...on the picture on it, it showed a red bump...I do not have a red bump, but there's definitely a bump there and it hurts so bad, especially when I close my eye. Anyone have any insight to my pain? Anyone else have one in the past? What happened? Nurses, help me :( |

Part of the people that I have seen have resolved on their own, but some of the others have required surgery depending on how troublesome it gets. How long have you had it?

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | It sounds like that's probably what it is...I've had one myself, it never got red, but a bump big enough to look like someone decked ya.......or like you didn't get any beauty sleep after a night of drinking!! :) Typically about 1-2 weeks duration, and just big enough to swell up that corner of the eye. Mine resolved on its own, but you can get antibiotics if it gets bad (real red, and you may have a tough time getting them unless the stye has pus). Sounds great huh? Typically itchy too, but try not to scratch because it'll open. I found ASA helped, both with the pain/irritation, and it did seem to improve the swelling temporarily......unless I was just hoping :)

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Oh yeah, some people get frequent recurrences. I've been lucky and just had the one.
