Rep Power: 10 ![]() | Re: Saved A Life on Sunday (I hope) My son is up in Great Falls visiting grandma and grandpa for a couple weeks, so I was bored and took my wife and daughter to a pond we've never been to. Lots of people around and a nice area. We ate some chicken and potato salad and played in the water with the girl. So grandmother brings her granddaughter and a friend (7 and 4) to the pond with her HUGE dog (looked like a saint bernard-rot mix). Some guy shows up with 2 dogs not on leashes and the saint starts running after the 2 dogs pulling the grandmother along. Everyone was paying attention to the dogs and NOT the little girls in the water. She gets the dog under control, and another lady sees the 4yr. old struggling in the water and jumps in and grabs her. The grandma starts yelling for the 7yr old (hally). Thats when it hits me there were 2 girls... and now only 1. The other lady that grabbed the 4yr old starts yelling for help, I tell my wife to call 911 and I start running around the pond to where they were. I jumped in and start swimming and looking for the 7yr old... not quit grasping yet shes under the water. It seemed like it wasnt real... i kept thinking, "shes off running around somewhere". By now theres about 10 people in the water looking and diving. By this time its been about 10 minutes. Everyone was closer to shore (6-7ft deep) and i start thinking shes deeper... so I dive down and start crawling along the bottom. The water is MURKY!! I can only see a arms length in front of me. Then I see a shape under the water, its her back. Shes on the bottom with her back up... curled up kinda. Its been 3 days since then... and this image is still haunting me. She was about 15ft down, i grab her and push off the bottom and take her to shore. There were enough people around, a off-duty EMT and 2 nurses. They start giving her CPR. The ambulance shows up and the parametics start taking over, they finally get a weak pulse and she is breathing. I didnt know her, or her dad (her mom I guess doesnt live here) but somehow my wife got his cell number, and he has our home number and called today. They arovac'd her to saltlake... her dad said she is slowly gaining vitals back but is still listed as critical. Ive prayed already.. im asking that a few of you guys will also pray for her to pull through. thanks.

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Re: Saved A Life on Sunday (I hope) great thing you did man! kids and their bodies are pretty good when it comes to coping with trauma/illness. Its a protective part of being a kid. We had to respond to vol. ff's house a few years ago, his 2yo fell in their pool. It was a sickening feeling to get there and see this little boy laying there lifeless, when you usually see him running around being a typical 2yo usually. He made a full recovery though. Keep us updated, and she's definatly in our prayers.
