Hate crimes against homosexuals, against some ethnic groups (just look at the genocide in Africa) and hate crimes against those of different religious beliefs. In the following report, I don't leave out the possiblity of this being a hate crime but how can you really be sure? Random violence is just as prominant. Some drugged out crazed looney finding a sleeping couple on the beach and decides to shoot them dead. No robbery, no assault. Just shot dead. For no particular reason except to see what it's like to kill someone. Things won't get any better, imo. Don't take for granted that you live in a nice neighborhood or that you have no enemies. One's safety should be a high priority now days. The thing with random murder is the victim is usually just in the wrong place at the right time. The victim has an unfortunate unplanned meeting with a killer. What if that was you or I or your loved one in that spot on that beach on that night? Anyway, I hope to follow this report to find out if this was really a hate crime. Investigators were "pursuing any and all leads" in the deaths of two camp counselors on weekend leave from their jobs at a religious outdoor adventure camp, a Sonoma County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman said. An autopsy completed on Friday concluded that Lindsay Cutshall, 23, and her fiance Jason Allen, 26, were each shot in the head at close range. They had been in their sleeping bags and there were "no other signs of trauma," Lt. Dave Edmonds, who heads the county investigations unit, said in a statement. Some 25 detectives have been called into the investigation. Among the possibilities they are considering is that the killing might have been a hate crime, Edmonds told reporters. The two were evangelical Christian camp counselors with plans to marry and open a Christian camp of their own. Investigators at the scene along the rugged Sonoma County coast had found no evidence that robbery, sexual assault or suicide had occurred. "They were shot in the head and that was it. It is very odd," Sonoma County community services officer Dave Huber said. Cutshall, of Fresno, Ohio, and Allen, of Holland, Michigan, had spent the summer leading white-water-rafting trips at a religious youth adventures camp in the foothills of the Sierra Mountains. They had taken the weekend off to visit San Francisco and the coastline north of the city. When they did not return to work after the weekend, camp officials called in a missing persons report to local law enforcement officials. No one could be reached at the Rock-N-Water Youth Adventures camp on Saturday. |

I got a 6 shooter 357 Magnum police revolver and I can assure you, I'll shoot their ass just as I was trained in the academy; once in the head and two in the chest. Chelle, I heard about that case on the news yesterday. The scary thing about that is that it occurred just yards away from a Christian camp out. And yet, no one heard any gun shots. Yeah, right.
