how often do you guys take a week break from lifting? how can you tell for sure you need one? just wondering...thanx guys/gals

I usually take 4-5 days off every 6-12 months. I just go on how i feel, if im getting burnt out in the gym then i know i need at least a few days off. I then start to feel like shit being out of the gym for so long then i want to get back in so bad and my workouts are back to being great!

1 week every 12 weeks. I'm taking my week off the week before the Arnold classic. I just do it because I've heard it's good for you. Seeing all the beautiful bodies at the Arnold will leave me feeling extremely motivated. It's a good thing ;)

I normally take extra time off at all holidays....seems to be enough for me...I haven't takin a full wk off from the gym in about 4 yrs.

I take time off around holidays (sometimes) or when my schedule gets so hectic with exams, etc that I don't have the time/energy for it...i try not to miss more than a week at a time though...

it happens often enough (a couple times per semester) that I don't worry about it any other time.

LOL.. just kidding.. usually after a show its nice to take 1-2 weeks off (if you dont have another planned right after).. and maybe 5 days ever 6 months.

About 1 week every year. But if I feel I need an extra day off every now and then I go ahead and take it off. Can't force a good workout.

Im on one now. I am working on my truck and getting it ready to paint. and finish the interior....finally got the stereo right, but by the time Im up and running again ill will have had a break for about a month and a half. that is about normal..if I go to long I get grouchy...but it takes me a while before I start the cycle..i want my body ready..
