Joyez!! .. PC over heating i think

Hey guys, my GFs pc just about 7 months old, purchased at bestbuy lol HP pavilion s7210n slimline pc, celeron m 1.4
its just shutting down after like 30 min of working, last night it was really hot and would shut down after like 2-5 minutes! what should i do?

call the people u bought it from and tell them whats up..its prob still under waranty if its only 7 months old

Your screwed....................you bought it at best buy, LOL. Take the thing back if its still less then a year old. The manufactures warranty will run for a year. You can try going into device manager (right click on my computer.....click on properties.......click on device manager........click on system..........and look under the list to see if you have fan listed.............I dont, but some systems do. Click on the fan and uninstall it...........then restart your system and go bakc into device manager and see if it is still listed. If its not then the fan is definately bad. If it is there it reinstalled and might have a bad temp sensor. I would say its bad since her system is crashing.

well, i spent 4 hours on the phone with HP support, after calling 4 times, 45 min each time, trouble shooting .... they are Finlay going to allow me to send it in for new motherboard and CPU (so they say) 7-14 day TA .. so well see ... they are paying for shipping

Just be thankful that you werent over that 1 year mark. I have a feeling you would be making best buy posts like I did, LOL. I finally got my problems fixed, but I will never buy anything else from them, EVER!

I think this is an old topic and I hope everything got fixed OK.. but an easy solution for over heating is to install a few extra fans or put more thermal paste on the processor (very common over heating problem).
