Computer Crashed need help

I have no idea what happened to my cpu today. I go to logon FI and next thing I know I get some weird ass blue screen pop up and it said something about having to shutdown b/c of security issues.

It said to restart in safe mode and turn off cache. Well a weird noise starting to come from the tower(cpu) some type of weird clicking noise. Well it shut down and when I started it back up that sound started again. Now it says that there is no boot device found and I need to insert a boot disc. I really don't know what that is, let alone have one.

The noise stops when I go to the setup options but I don't know what i'm doing there so it doesn't help. It did act like it was going to startup in safe mode once but it just turned to a black screen and didn't do jack

So any ideas on how to fix this??

btw i'm on my g/f's cpu

Harddrive is probably dead.
You'll need a new hdd and to reinstall windows.

first step for PC problem solving is you need to strip the PC down to the bare bone ... powersuply and hard drive ... if it works like this then start to plug in your CD rom drives and mouse/keyboard .... but again if nothin works might be HardDrive or PowerSuply

matt I just went thru this 4 weeks ago, if it is clicking your hard drive is dead or almost dead! if you want to save anything off that drive you will need to take the drive out and put it in another computer and set the pins on it to the slave setting, then turn on the PC you have it in, click on my computer and you should be able to see it, click on it and try to save the files, if that doesn't work, PM me and I will show you a program that will get the files off even if the drive is completely dead. Joeyz helped me and I was able to save everything from that drive

I have a friend who is pretty good with cpu's and I might let him have at it
