Big Matt

After 3 years and many upgrades....microsoft finally caught on that my copy of windows XP pro is not legit. Well it's legit.......I just didn't pay for it or use a valid CD-key to activate it. Teehee! Anyhow.....got my copy of Madden and now I can't play it because I need to download the latest version of DirectX from....guess who?....Microsoft!

Does anyone know how I can get it without shelling out to Microsoft?

find another pirated windows or download direct x from another source and install it... there are plenty of programs that come with directx too

just try and load another new game and directx should be on there already, once on the comp. always on there to be used by other programs; ie: Madden

he prob tried to download MS updates ... thats where they will find out ... dont download any UPDATES from MicroSoft

if you do download updates or try, what happens? just curious?

No matter what you do you need to take care of your issue with it not being a valid copy. The fact is that you need the updates they offer. I would suggest disabling windows genuine advantage as well as downloading a widows validation tool from one of the torrent sites, or better yet...............get a corporate copy of a valid windows disk and install it in place of what you have.

Had to barrow a copy from some one to fix mine... Any of your friends have a new computer from like last year they should have a copy and that will work..
