i was wondering if someone knows for sure if research chemicals are legal or not. bb ba os etc...

^^^^they are for research purposes, they are not to be consumed, a good research company will tell you that on their disclaimer.

so no, they are only illegal when they are used for anything other than research purposes

It depends on your state.

Some states have laws that state that if you have these chemicals in your possession and don't have a prescription then you are in trouble.

Most LE people don't even know Research Chemical's exist

Since the drugs aren't controlled substances...in the states that do have laws the degree of misdemeanor is much less.
