Low Carb Pizza Dough

Very intresting high in fiber too...

Flax Meal Pizza Dough

1 and 1/2 C flax seed meal
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt (sea salt)
1 teaspoon oregano or any other herb
Sweetener to equal about 1 Tablespoon of sugar (used splenda SugarTwin is nasty too strong IMO)
3 Tablespoons of olive oil
3 eggs or egg beaters (i used egg beaters)
1/2 C water

Preheat oven to 425 F.

1. Mix dry ingredients together.
2. Add wet ingredients, mix .
3. Let sit for about 5 minutes to thicken.
4. Spread on pan (sprayed with Pam) or use thoe new rubber non stick pans
5. Bake for 15-18 minutes until cooked through, then add toppings and cook until they are done.

Whole crust has 7 grams of effective carbohydrate, plus 52 grams fiber, 47 grams protein, and 130 grams fat

tried this. i used fresh tomatoes, fresh mozerella and fresh basil as toppings. baked at 350 for 15 min then put the toppings on and thew it back under the broiler for a few minutes. i accidentally used WAAAAY to much salt and it was kinda nasty(my fault) but all in all the recipe ROCKS.

i think the trick is to spread the dough pretty thin (cracker like consistancy), the thicker areas (think a sicilian slice of pizza) weren't as good as the thinner areas. just my .02.

enjoy if you eat it. it even smells like real pizza dough when cooking.

i know thats crazy....

id rather eat ice cream. or REAL pizza. or BOTH for that matter!

only teasing, faiz...

bet if u used all egg whites, and used sesalean instead of olive oil (only other one i can think of that u can cook w/) it would help the fat content. but we have to remember its pretty much ALL flax!
