That's right I did a new hack record today......I pushed 540 x 4(plate weigth only), yeap 12 45's all the way to parallel....it was friggin insane. When I got done I didn't jump of the hack at first but when I got my legs under me and managed to crawl off the sled I was jacked upped that's for sure, it set the tone for the rest of my leg workout. Plus right when I got under the weight prissy(my wife) walked in the gym....when I finished and got done struting around like a rooster, she asked how much weight it was, when I told her she was like that's very good.

Another thing that makes it even better is when I walked in the gym I felt like pure shit and just knew it was going to be one of those sucky workouts.........so all I can say after going that is YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!

Cool. Congrats.

My training partner is a 21 year old 160 pounder with toothpick legs. The other day, he was doing reverse hacks while I was working arms (he injured his wrist ). He had three plates per side and wanted to get it 4 times. I didn't let him stop until he hit 12 reps. He added 25 per side and did 10 more. He went up to 4 plates and did 10 more.
He added 25 and did 6. Four plates and a 25...I thought, "damn, I'm never doing these things...this little shit can do more than me." :slap:

Thats freakin awesome, hopefully one of these days I'll be the one yahooing. "thats very good" If I did a lift like that I'd be like "hey woman, thats freakin damn good!" :D

Thanks guys....it just shows that even when u think u might have a bad day in the gym it can turn around real quick. I use to hate Hacks and they are becoming one of my favorite exercises real fast.

My legs look like toothpicks also, but for some reason they are fairly strong. :unsure: :what:

For me the key to a good hack squat is not putting my feet to far forward, I think to many people do that, when I moved my feet alittle closer to my body the weight just seemed to get easier.

Hey swellin I have not done reverse hacks before...I must give that a try someday. And u also proved that when someone pushes u, u can push yourself harder and do more. I think some call it sandbagging. :D

Thats pretty damn good bro... Now next week do the same... AND drop 3 plates off each side and pump out 4 more... and then take 2 off.. leaving 1 on each side and REP!!! it out.. ;)

I mix it up all the time to be honest. Sat I hit legs and did heavy squats and heavy hack squats(had a training partner that day) which is fairly rare for me to do. Most of the time I will alt. from week to week between squats and hacks. The hacks seem to hit my lower quads better and that is a weak area for me....my quad size seems to be at the top of the leg for some reason.

How do hack squats and reverse hacks differ? As far as targeting your legs?

Maybe it is my foot placement, but I get more glutes and hams with hacks (I still get plenty of quads too), but I get more quads with reverse hacks. They also seem to get on my lower back a little more, too.
