I've been reading off and on, the training manual Skii pinned up, and in the section 'How Hard to Train', it says not to go to failure on deadlifts. I've read and re-read that section and still do not understand why not to go to failure. Could someone please elaborate on this?--Cat

| New Member ![]() | Re: Deadlifts to failure, why not? To prevent injury, but if you don't go beyond failure, you won't grow as much as you can. Yes, deadlifts can be dangerous, but I always go to failure. You just have to know when to quit. IMO you SHOULD go to failure, but failure means your form is gettin' fucked up. As soon as that happens, that's when you get injured. Sooo... When your form starts to go, stop. That's failure.
