The two best ways to burn fat is doing cardio after weight lifting or early morning cardio. It's best to do cardio after weight training. You burn fat when you have no carbs in the body. If you do cardio after weight training your body is depleted of glycogen and it taps into the stored
energy "fat". If you do cardio before you lift, you won't have the much
energy to really hit the weights hard. Now there is nothing wrong with doing 5 to 10 mins of low intensity cardio as a warm-up and then stretching. It's recommeneded to do that to get the blood flowing going to the muscles. But most people skip out on that and just go right to the lifting. Some people also opt for fasted cardio, which is another option. But the key is if you do cardio on an empty stomach then you should have a
low carb protien shake with some BCAA's and extra glutamine, so you don't burn muscle.
When I cutting I did all my cardio after I lifted and leaned out nicely. When I was on the Body for Life program I did fasted cardio and lost weight, too. Try doing 20-30 minute sessions of low to moderate intensity cardio after you lift for several weeks and observe the results. You will definately like them.
