| Post Whore ![]() | Bands are much more versatile. Sometimes I use them for completely separate exercises you wouldn't even think of. Try wrapping a couple of the smaller ones around the bottom of a freestanding pull-up station, and then hooking each one over a shoulder. Or doing snap-downs with a towel wrapped heavy band. Also, they're much quieter, and make less of a spectacle. The only con I can think of is that once they over-accelerated me into a squat so fast I had a very embarassing sit-down. |

| New Member ![]() | Re: Bands v Chains Agree both are useful depending what you are trying to accomplish. Fortunately I have access to both. But, I would say I do not care for the bands other that stretching techniques etc as they put you on a certain plane vs. chains do not.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Re: Bands v Chains I use them both, like them both but tend to use bands more inthe gym when at home us ethe chains, tend to add weight to the chains. The other brand is ironwoody bands, they last longer b/c less dye and they are cheaper but the price is going up. After training with bands and chains you feel a difference in the end range strength and jumping power.
