I just get what ever is the cheapest. I just make sure the ingedients say whey protein isolate, and not concentrate. There is a difference in the ability for your body to absorb the two.

S&H
After several years of mixing cheap protein powders I started have a hard time gagging them down so taste seems to be what I have been basing my decisions on for the past year or so. Muscle Milk tastes the best by far for me too, I buy about 6 cases of the ready-to-drinks a month. I also really, really like those IDS New Whey 42 with 42 grams of whey protein in a small 3oz test tube shaped container that tastes like liquid jello (a nice change from chocolate, etc) for pre and/or post workout as you get a lot of protein in a single gulp...I buy about 4 or 5 cases of these per month. Other favorites are MHPs Probolic-SR 12 Hour Muscle Feeder which is great before bedtime as it has fast, medium, and slow release proteins for supposedly 12 hour coverage, glutamine, arginine, BCAAs, DLA, MCTs, and flax and fish oils DHA/EPA already in it. Max Muscle Gourmet also tastes good, much like Muscle Milk but with reduced fat and sodium profile...very expensive though and those Max Muscle guys are extremely hard sell, bashing EVERY other brand of supplement as absolutely inferior to their own (at least at the one in my area) which is a total turnoff. As much as I want to support the local bodybuilding stores (very few here) it's getting hard to even go into that place. ON and Dymatize ISO-100 are decent tasting as well. Anyway, that's my 2 cents...for what it's worth!

GNC is still my fav. one. I tried ON's products only the chocolate is tasting good. EAS, Leanbody is also on my protein top list, the MRP. Generally, I hate 'em all. lol
