Rep Power: 5 ![]() | Re: palumbos diet?? hey bud....here is some of the basics i got over at MD Palumbo Diet: Supps: ESSENTIAL POLYUNSATURATES: -Omega-3 Fish Oil pills 1000mg 3x per day -Evening Primrose Oil (Omega-6) 1300mg 2x per day -Extra Virgin Olive Oil is still better for your heart! These are HEART HEALTHY MONOUNSATURATED FATS (along with MACADAMIA NUT OIL). MONO's are NOT essential fats; however, they ARE very heart healthy. NON ESSENTIAL but HEART HEALTHY Macadamia Nut oil (Omega-9 monosaturates) 2-3 ablespoons per day I'm a believer in a good whole food supplement. I've mentioned it before: Juice Plus+ gives you 12 servings of fruits and veggies in 4 pills (no sugar, no fiber). Juice Plus+, Juice Plus Official HomepageÂ* Good legal Test/anti-aromatase: 6-oxo or Gaspari Novedex XT Liver Support: LIV-52 by Himalayan Labs for liver detoxification at its best! Take all supps with food Diet: (for 250lb man) Meal 1 6 whole Omega-3 eggs Meal 2 8oz chicken with 1/2 cup raw almonds Meal 3 50g whey with 2 tablespoons all natural peanutbutter (PWO) Meal 4 8oz salmon with 1 cup asparagus with 1 tablespoon macadamia nut oil Meal 5 50 g whey with 2 tablespoon PB Meal 6 6 whole eggs (5 meals for Women) HAVE YOUR CHEAT MEAL ON THE SAME DAY EVERY WEEK, last meal of the day so you dont cheat again. FOR WEIGHT GAIN: Follow my same formula. . . High protein (50g per meal), Moderate Fat (25g per meal), and moderate carbs (35-50g per meal). If you're a hard gainer, eat 8-10 meals. If you're an easy gainer (but get fat easily), stick to 6 meals per day. For the 1000th time, when following my diet plan (which includes getting your brain into ketosis), there can be NO starchy carbs eaten! Cardio: CARDIO should be performed at a low intensity (under 120bpm heartrate). This will ensure that you use FAT as a fuelsource since as your heartrate increase, carbohydrates begin to become the preferred fuel of choice for the body. When on a low carb diet, you're body will break down muscle and turn that into carbs. Remember, Fat CANNOT be changed into carbs. Therefore, for bodybuilding, the rule of cardio should be LONG DURATION, LOW INTENSITY Forget using: -MCT's are a waste when you're dieting. If you're gonna use FATS for an energy source, they might as well serve a function in the body. MCTs are useless. They can only serve as a source of energy! -Arginine is not going to do anything. It will DO something; just not dramatic. |

Rep Power: 7 ![]() | Re: palumbos diet?? Well I think it would all depend on the individual. I remember the last time we talked you were following this diet. The last diet I was on I ran super low carbs and moderate fat intake and my body seemed to stay 'consistant' if that makes sense. I stayed drier and fuller. When I cycled my carbs one day i would look great and the next I look like crap. Its hard to dial yourself in unless you know ur body good. What do u think about it Buff?? |

Rep Power: 5 ![]() | Re: palumbos diet?? i like the idea of the diet....my only problem with it for a competition is(this is only my little theory) i think it is harder to get real dry on that diet....just from what i have seen it seems like the guys who follow this type of diet have a hard time dropping their water and coming in real dry like the guys who use alot of carbs....and i think it would be real easy to come in real flat which can give the appearance of not being as well conditioned as you really are....i also think alot of really just depends on the person...i think this type of diet is perfect for women competing...one because i think it would be easier for them to drop the fat and two i think women look better flat....but those are only my ideas....i think im going to start this diet monday and see how it works for myself though. |

I think we all know the difference after a good carb loading phase prior to show. I dont see myself NOT carb loading before a show...lol. What I did last time (that worked well for me) is to go with brown rice for my carbs. I did this for the last 8 weeks i think. I didnt mix up my carbs like I did previous years. I noticed before that my body stayed more consistant with rice instead of any other carb source. My numbers were really low on carbs for about 6 to 8 weeks total but my fat intake was moderate. I seen the best gains during this period for me.

Well like you said if your conditioning is spot on it would be hard to do something different. I've seen you compete many times and your conditioning is always A+. Kinda hard to say... If I were to run no carbs I would do it at the beginning of prep to see how it works. I would like to know the loading phase of this kind of diet. It would be hard to sway me on carbing up.
