Re: Getting lethargic

OK guys, i dont know whats going on but since i have really jacked up my calories and upped my protien and carbs i have noticed that i am feeling very lethargic and just want to sleep all the time. I find myself taking about a 30-60 min nap and hour before i lift and when i get out of the gym i have my post workout shake ( 4 scoops nlarge 2 and a bananna) then come home(15min drive) take a shower sit for 30 mins then i eat my post workout meal and then i start feelin really tired again so i try to stay up but i usually fall asleep for about an hour. At the moment i am taking in 300 grams of protien, and 600 grams of carbs, trying to keep my calories around 4000. Do you think its my diet that is causing me to be sleepy all the time, i know for sure im not diabetic too.... I just ate 1 cup of cooked oats with peaches about 20 min about and my eyes feel like lead and its only 3:15 in the afternoon....

Re: Getting lethargic

it could be the dose of carbs...i know i just want to sleep after a heavy meal (most especially if it's pretty fatty)...

what's you're sleeping pattern like? and are you on anything currently? all this could be affecting it...along with a million other things, i'm sure...

Re: Getting lethargic

I get lethargic after eating sugar products. I cant have a bowl of cereal in the morning. I get lethargic instantly afterwards so I go back to sleep.

have you considered the fact that you may be oversleeping? at least for me, when i sleep all day, all i want to do is sleep more...

consider sleeping only 8 hours a night for a couple weeks, see if you regulate or start to notice any difference...

just a thought...though if i had that much free time, i probably would sleep as much as possible too!

Who says i need to work, work sucked so i quit and am living off my investments, yes at 22 i have investments, I havent worked in a little over a year now. But to get back on subject, im gonna try to change my sleeping pattern and see what happens, but the way i see it, the more i sleep the more i grow....
