Rep Power: 3 ![]() | Re: Water- Retention question u gotta cycle down from those diuretics. the more you take them the worse the rebound is going to be when youj finally do come off of them. the post show water retn is killer...painful and makes you sooooooooo self conscious. best advice i can give is to keep your water intake up. get OFF the diuretics..its gonna prolong and make the rebound worse. and try to eat clean again...binging is going to create that water retn. enjoy your cheats, you deserve them...but try to eat a cookie, not the bag. u know what i mean. also, get your cardio in. not sying to do 2 hours...but do something. the budda belly and cankles will subside - - as a female it usually takes us 4-6 weeks to go down for a guy, i'm sure its less. i'm sure an experienced male competitor can chime in w/ advice.

Rep Power: 2 ![]() | Re: Water- Retention question Damn bro this bring back memories bro!!! Thsi has to be the worst feeling for any BB IMO!!! I have had it happen to me the last two out of three shows ive competed in brother and it is totally not a good feeling!!! do to the use of diuretics in comp your body will usually rbound pretty bad if you dont continue to run diuretics after ur show and taper them down so ur body doesnt react the way it did!!! i had this happen to me when i did southern states as a teen!!! I ran diuretics up till my show to lose water nad i discontinued there use after the show and i rebounded really bad!!! I think i gained like 25 lbs in like a week!!! I was so swollen that i couldnt even wear normal shoes do to water retention!!! I went to the Dr and he told me that i was suffering from what was known as third spacing i!!! i got back on some diuretics and continued there use nad slowly tapering down off of then and my symptoms were back to normal in like 3 weeks or so!!! Good luck bro!!!

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Re: Water- Retention question Go low carbs for a few days, only taking in lean meats, and green vegetables for carbs. Keep your water around 1 1/2 to 2 gallons. The aldactone shut off your body's production of aldosterone, when you stop the diuretics the aldosterone levels rise far above normal and you end up with alot of water retention. Like Mac said, taper off with the Aldactone, 25mg for a couple days, then 12.5mg for a couple more and stick to the low carb and keep water intake high. Remember when you load your water, your hpta detects the elevatod water levels and lowers the production of ADH.
