There's a CrossFit trainer at the gym I go to and while I haven't used him I have spoken to him and seen what his workouts do to people. It doesn't seem to be an actual bodybuilding workout but is a training program for a very high overall fitness and performance level. They seem to have a set routine of weights and movements they do over and over again as quickly as they can to see how many cycles of the complete routine they can do over a set period of time. The workout itself is not that hard at first but after several run throughs I have seen people puking and others on the verge of fainting. I'm not a bodybuilder myself, I work out for wrestling and athletics and am very used to a combination of high intensity explosive power training, endurance training, and cardio but I'm kind of intimidated by this CrossFit stuff. I don't claim to be an expert or anything but I've had a few bodybuilder friends who said that even a game of pingpong or basketball could take and inch off their arms so I think this might not be ideal for bodybuilders in general.

http://www.crossfit.com/ They also do exercises such as squats, deads, cleans, clean and jerks, snatches so there are also powerlifting oriented. I am going to be starting Xfit next week so I'll keep you all posted.

I've done crossfit for over a year now. I'm not convinced that it's great for bodybuilding, but it definately gets you in shape. It's especially good for people who need exceptional all-around fitness (i.e. firefighters, military, etc.) Their workouts will definately kick your ass like nothing has before.

I've been doing crossfit for 3 months now. I thought I was in pretty damn good shape going in....wow was it an eye opener. I was in horrible shape. Within 3 mnths I have put myself into the best shape of my life and it just keeps getting better. I encourage all of you to give it a shot...I will warn you it will kick your ass badly and there is a damn good chance you'll puke your guts out...but when it is all said and done you'll be addicted like the rest of us freaks and be choppin' at the bit for your next ass kickin' workout!! :)
