| The Perfect Routine Get it out of your head there is a perfect routine. As you progress from rank beginner, to beginner, to low intermediate, to advanced, to elite, your needs change. Any routine is only as good for as long as it takes your body to adapt to it. When you are a beginner you can run the same thing for longer periods of time. As you advance, more variation is needed. With my advanced trainees they rarely get more than 4-6 weeks of routine at a time and we often make changes during these 4-6 weeks.
There is no "perfect" routine. And what is a very good routine for your friend may be poison to you. There are simply no universal prescriptions.
