| Re: Interval Training for Runners And as to the original topic, I wouldn't begin interval training until you've been running at least 6 months, and can handle a pretty good workload already. I've been running 30-40 miles per week for about 7-8 weeks, working my way up to that over a 9-10 month span, and only this month have I begun these types of workouts. Develop good form, build your milage base, maintain that work load and be sure you can do it for several weeks w/o significant pain/aches/soreness/injury and only THEN begin speed training. These workouts can really be tough on your body. |
