| Re: Ventral Hernia Just an update on this. On second opinion from my regular GP what I have is not a ventral hernia but Diastasis Recti. The abdominus rectus muscle is separated. But, he says that there is no risk of strangulation and advised me to carry on with my full workout routine unless it created some pain. :)
He also advised that I could have it repaired just like a ventral hernia but that it was not necessary. And that it was major surgery with a relatively high rate of complications and recurrence. So, no knife for me.
I started back doing about 200 crunches, of various types, each morning and no problems so far. Just a little weird looking when I'm actually doing a crunch! lol
