Amphetamines have the exact opposite effect on brain activity in those with ADD. The key word is brain activity, not heart rate. I cannot explain the reasoning behind this, but this is what I've always heard as well. It was not something we studied in nursing school, but now you have me questioning what I've always been lead to believe. I guess I will read up on it today!
