Listen, short esters are good because you can control sides easier. But they are still there. Anything strongly androgenic will cause acne. You can go with very low androgens, but still get a case if you are predisposed to it. Frankly, I always say to use a good cleanser, a solid topical, and suck it up. The problem with a lot of the prescription stuff is that you are then dealing with even more sides.
