| Bands are much more versatile. Sometimes I use them for completely separate exercises you wouldn't even think of. Try wrapping a couple of the smaller ones around the bottom of a freestanding pull-up station, and then hooking each one over a shoulder. Or doing snap-downs with a towel wrapped heavy band.
Also, they're much quieter, and make less of a spectacle. The only con I can think of is that once they over-accelerated me into a squat so fast I had a very embarassing sit-down. |
