They help to take care of the board.. such as deleting posts that are offending or rude.. they help to keep the un-ruly in line, basically they help to "watch over" the board with the "Powers that be" aren't on. LoL There are also the mods that not only help to watch over the board, but they are there for their experience, wisdom, and help in certain things (Diet, exercise, body building, etc...)
